MTNF Scholar-Mufutau Akuruyejo travels to Switzerland for the Cern ICT Training

Mufutau Akuruyejo, is the first Nigerian to receive the CERN ICT training where he will participate in the nine-week openlab programme courtesy of MTN Foundation and Oracle.

Mufutau’s journey began on Saturday as he left Lagos for Switzerland to receive the training and hopefully become certified by Oracle.


Over 1,500 students from all over the world applied and he emerged as the only Nigerian and African to participate in this scheme.He’s a 500 level undergraduate in UNILAG.

MTNF and Oracle are passionate about boosting ICT skills in Nigerian students and Mufutau is first of many beneficiaries to come.

The purpose of this programme is to accelerate the development of cutting edge solutions to be used by the worldwide LHC (Large Hadron Collider) community.

Over 4,900 students from Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges of Education have benefited from MTN Foundation’s science and technology scholarship scheme and these students have been awarded scholarships worth hundreds of Millions.
